The wretched summer heat means peak harvest season. The least you can do is take advantage of the yummy seasonal produce to distract from the thirst-quenching weather .

Farmers markets are unique ways for consumers to get products directly from farmers. Typically, on weekends, the Fort Worth area hosts a wide variety of year-round markets and seasonal ones.

The place to take advantage of farm-to-table is Texas. About 14.07% of the U.S.’s agricultural land resides in the Lone Star State, which has 126 million acres. We are known for our fertile soil in the Rio Grande Valley, which is rich for growing produce, pecans, and olive trees.

According to the Texas Department of Agriculture’s seasonality wheel, July is the best season for apples, blueberries, peaches, watermelons, and tomatoes for fruit. And for veggies, cabbage, cucumber, peas, lettuce, herbs, mushrooms, okra, onion, potato, and squash are in their prime.
