Jim Leyland introduced and thanked his family during his National Baseball Hall of Fame induction speech Sunday in Cooperstown, New York, and then told a funny anecdote about Cincinnati native Ed Brinkman. Tee Higgins can’t be happy with Bengals after hearing Ja’Marr Chase contract update
Hopefully, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins didn't watch team owner Mike Brown speak at the 2024 media luncheon. On Monday, Brown addressed reporters, answering various queries concerning the state of the franchise. One question kindled a response that Higgins can't be thrilled with, reminding him of his failed contract negotiations with the Bengals this offseason.
Former Steelers CB Roasts Chad Johnson
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers versus Cincinnati Bengals rivalry is never one to miss. And even after retirement, former foes are getting after it, having some fun on social media and showing they still have plenty of trash talk left in them after football. Joking on X (formerly known at...
Duke Tobin: Evan McPherson extension could come together
Bengals owner Mike Brown was emphatic about how hard the Bengals will work to get an extension done with wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, but he’s not the only player who has a new deal on their radar. Kicker Evan McPherson is heading into the final year of his...
Mike Brown: We’ll bend over backwards to sign Ja’Marr Chase
The Bengals went into the 2024 offseason with two wide receivers looking for new contracts and they ended it the same way. Neither Ja’Marr Chase nor Tee Higgins have signed extensions with the team as training camp gets underway and Higgins won’t be able to talk to the team about a long-term deal until after the season because he’s playing on a franchise tag. Ja’Marr Chase can sign a new pact with the team at any time, however, and owner Mike Brown said on Monday that the team will work hard to make sure he remains in Cincinnati.

Reds Young Stars Shine Amid Trade Rumors
The Cincinnati Reds, now standing at a 47-53 record after a challenging season, have signaled their willingness to trade expiring contract players following recent poor performance, as reported by Jon Morosi of MLB Network. This decision comes after injuries to key players and the emergence of a young, promising core led by Elly De La Cruz and Hunter Greene, indicating a focus on future contention. Players on expiring contracts like Frankie Montas, Nick Martinez, Austin Slater, Justin Wilson, Buck Farmer, and Lucas Sims are among those likely to be moved. The Orioles have shown interest in the Reds' rental pitchers, aiming to bolster their depleted rotation.

Washington Nationals’ rookie James Wood was 8 for 25 (.320/.452/.480) with a double, one home run, six walks, and seven strikeouts in his first seven games in the majors, but going into Saturday night’s matchup with the Cincinnati Reds in the nation’s capital, the 21-year-old slugger was 6 for 32 (.188/.212/.188) with no walks and 16 Ks in his previous eight games and 33 PAs.

Matt’s Take – Reds fall short yet again; Bengals preview
The Cincinnati Reds have unfortunately fallen back far enough to become sellers at the deadline. Their lackluster performance in Washington has officially become what I believe to be the nail in the coffin for this Reds season. I guess Joe Biden wasn’t the only person to drop out of the race in Washington this weekend. Of course, I hope I am wrong, but barring another 10-game win streak, I just don’t see Cincinnati making a run at the playoffs this year. Inconsistencies, injuries, and just poor performances have put this team 6 games below .500, dead last in the National League Central, 10.5 games behind Milwaukee, and 4 games back from a Wild Card spot. There are only two teams with worse records than the Cincinnati Reds in the National League, after a winning season from Cincinnati just a year ago.

The American Sign Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio is a real deal blast from the past. Recently, a new expansion has made it a "must visit" for anyone seeking some good ole nostalgia. Over a year ago, in February 2023, crews were cleaning out a 20,000 sq ft storage space at...
