It has not been shown that Covid-19 vaccines cause or accelerate cancer. Yet opponents of the vaccines say a new review article “has found that Covid-19 mRNA vaccines could aid cancer development.” That statement is based mainly on misinterpretation of a study on mRNA cancer vaccines in mice.
Kentucky judge declines, for now, to lift ban on executions
A Kentucky judge has declined to remove a court injunction that has blocked executions in the state for more than a decade. He said there may also be constitutional questions about the new regulations that have to be settled.

What kind of May Day could we have in 2025?
On this May Day, I'm thinking of May 1, 1933. May 1 has been the international labor day since the 19th-century. But ninety-one May Days ago, a European country’s new leader proclaimed May Day a national holiday in honor of workers, many of whom belonged to unions. It was a brutal hoax.

Is IVF protected in Kentucky? Depends on whom you ask.

How Congress could save our democratic republic

Heat – or light?
Civil disobedience, the willingness to break a law and endure the consequences for the sake of a greater moral good, enjoys a pedigree extending back through King’s civil rights movement, Gandhi’s passive resistance to India’s British colonizers, and even back to Thoreau, who went to jail for a night rather than pay a tax that was being used to fund the Mexican war of 1846-48.

Rensselaer researcher publishes groundbreaking study on labor market discrimination against transgender people
In 2020, the United States Supreme Court ruled in Bostock vs. Clayton County that transgender people are legally protected from employment discrimination. This came at a time of increased visibility, but also of legal and social challenges to the rights of transgender individuals. Meanwhile, there has been very little study of labor market discrimination against them. Rensselaer researcher Billur Aksoy, Ph.D., has recently conducted an innovative survey of Americans’ attitudes toward transgender people in the workplace.
