Completing my thirteenth year at 1390 Granite City Sports with your weekly amateur baseball (Town Team) reports. Including game summaries, upcoming schedules, league standings, tournament summaries and an occasional special interest feature. The plan is to continue to include: Arrowhead West/Section 2B: Cold Spring Springers, Moorhead Brewers, Moorhead Mudcats, Hamel Hawks, and Sobieski Skis, Central Valley League, Sauk Valley League, Victory League South and Stearns County, New London-Spicer, Paynesville Pirates the Regal Eagles of the County Line League teams and the Foley Lumberjacks formerly of the Sauk Valley League, now the Victory League along with Sobieski Skis, St. Stephen Steves, Avon Lakers, St. Wendel Saints, Opole Bears, Freeport Black Sox, Royalton River Dogs and Nisswa Lightning, throughout their league playoffs, regional and state.
‘Microdosing Shruumz’ recall linked to illnesses in MN
ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 9) - Various products marketed as magic mushroom products have been linked to more than 70 illnesses throughout the U.S., with two occurring in Minnesota. According to a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recall, Diamond Shruumz-brand products, including microdosing chocolate bars, infused cones and extreme gummies have been recalled, and should no longer be available for sale. The products have previously been available online, and at a variety of retail locations such as smoke/vape shops, and retailers that sell hemp-derived products such as CBD or Delta-8 THC.
YOUTH ADVOCATE GWAYAKOCHIGE WIGAMIG (RED LAKE NATION YOUTH SHELTER)
(RED LAKE NATION YOUTH SHELTER) Open: July 23, 2024- Until filled. POSITION SUMMARY: Builds therapeutic relationships and provides intensive supervision of youth that are residing on a temporary basis at the Gwayakochige-Wigamig – The Red Lake Youth Shelter. Oshkaabewisag (Advocates) will supervise and work with youth between the ages 5-17. The position will require working in an office/shelter setting that is open 24 hours and 365 days a year. This position requires on-site staffing for 3 shifts; day shift, evening shift and overnight shifts. Oshkaabewisag will provide general shelter oversight to ensure safety of the youth, establish and promote shelter programing. The Oshkaabewisag will cooperate with the Gwayakochige-Wigamig Case Manager to assist the youth in achieving housing stability, recovery from complex trauma, setting and reaching personal goals, family reunification and/or independent self-sufficiency. Reports to Youth Shelter Executive Director, Part time position, may lead to Full time w/benefits (Various shifts), salary; $17.00-$20.00 DOQ. ORGANIZATION Gwayakochige-Wigamig: "Making the right choices" (as in the choices Creator would want you to make) Gwayakochige-Wigamig is a cornerstone for intergenerational and community healing. We are committed to ensuring that our Anishinaabe youth and their families have access to their Indigenous rights of community, belonging and cultural identity. Gwayakochige-Wigamig is an Anishinaabe (Indigenous Person) culture-based emergency shelter for at risk Oshkii-ayaa'aag (youth, pl) who may be experiencing houselessness and instabilities due to; runaway status, family crisis, abuse, may be involved with the juvenile corrections and/or child protection system(s). The Emergency Shelter provides culturally based emergency shelter services to youth ages 5 to 17 years old located on the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Services include emergency and short-term shelter, crisis intervention, case and systems advocacy, information and referrals, trauma-informed therapy, access to medical/dental care, cultural advising, counseling, case management and community education.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the Minnesota State Patrol, wants to remind WE Fest attendees that no parking is allowed along Highway 59 in Detroit Lakes prior to noon on Monday, July 29. Vehicles arriving before noon on Monday will not be permitted to park on the shoulder and will be subject to removal and penalty by State Patrol.
