ROCHESTER — As National Thank a Police Officer Day approaches on Sept. 21, the volunteer-run committee, Thank a Rochester Cop, is finalizing efforts to honor local law enforcement officers.

The public can participate by visiting one of three “decoration stations” around the city to pick up supplies to “paint the city blue” during September. Locations include Holy Rosary Credit Union (Brock Street), the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce (South Main Street), and Granite Steak & Grill (Route 11). Supplies are free, but donations are welcome.

Community members and children are also encouraged to write thank you notes to officers, with designated stations at Potter’s House Bakery & Café, Frisbie Memorial Hospital cafeteria, Rochester Public Library, Market Basket at The Ridge Marketplace, and the supply pick-up locations. The Thank a Rochester Cop committee will deliver the thank you cards and gift bags to officers on National Thank a Police Officer Day.

Profile Bank is underwriting all activities this year. For more information, visit thankarc.com or facebook.com/ThankARochesterCop .
