Gay: The Fountain Hills Times at 50

I don't know if you noticed, but the Fountain Hills Times 50th Anniversary publication was an interesting historical account of the newspaper and Fountain Hills – It was great!

And I looked at each advertiser's message, too. Many of them touted their business, mission and tenure – which makes sense. I wish more of them had also thanked the Times’ role in their success; only one in five advertisers did.

For long-term readers of the paper, a nice tradition has developed around our globetrotting readers who proudly hold an edition of The Times in exotic destinations. The Times has been around the world many times – thanks to local avid readers.

So, I say “thanks” to Mayor Dickey, too, as the only one to recognize that beloved tradition in this 50th anniversary edition of The Times! She understands the value and contributions of the Cruikshank Family and The Times publications to our town. See page 54 to see what I mean!
