Thompson: Gratitude for the library staff

Recently, my husband and I were fortunate to care for three grandchildren over the summer. We enrolled them – 3-, 6-, and 7-year-old – for various programs at our Fountain Hills library.

While all the staff and librarians were both generous with their time and helpfulness, one staff member was especially supportive of our grandkids and of us. Ms. Christy Valentine was an instructor for some programs which provided us and our girls assistance, education and a higher interest in several activities at the library. She was patient with the ineptness of us, the grandparents, the fluctuating emotions of the kids, and the skill levels of all the kids in the programs. She assisted us and the kids with activities to emote interest and excitement.
