    Crowder Dominates at Home; Complete 4-Game Sweep over Colby Community College

    NEOSHO, Mo — The Crowder Roughriders wrapped up their 4-game series against Colby Community College today in a doubleheader

    Crowder got two wins in their doubleheader winning the first one, 10-0 in 6 innings and then winning the last game 13-3 in 5 innings to earn the 4-game sweep over the Trojans.

    The Roughriders improved to 11-5 on the year and have won 6 straight.

    Recap — Crowder 10, Colby CC 0–

    The Roughriders jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the 1st inning, thanks to a couple of RBI’s by Kolton Reynolds and Cole Kitchens.

    In the 2nd inning, Quinton Borders launched a two-run bomb to extend Crowder’s lead 5-0.

    Crowder put the game away in the 6th thanks to a RBI by Easton Swofford, a two-RBI single from Joey Morton and a RBI-Double from Cole Kitchens.

    Kitchens finished with 4 RBI’s on two hits.

    Getting the win on the mound was Jackson Murry who shutdown the Trojans going; 6.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, and 11 strikeouts.

    Murry picked up his second win of the year and is now 2-1 on the season.

    Recap — Crowder 13, Colby CC 3–

    In their second game of the doubleheader, it was much of the same for the Roughriders.

    After a scoreless first inning, Crowder came back in the 2nd and scored 11 runs.

    Swofford, Jason Avila, Jaxon McAuliff, Ashton Graff-Rowe, and Kitchens all pitched in RBI’s during that inning.

    Swofford finished with 2 RBI’s as did McAuliff and Kitchens added 3 more RBI’s to give him 7 on the day.

    In the bottom of the 5th inning, Brock Bearden ended it with a 2-RBI double to earn the run rule victory.

    Getting the win was Aaron Arnold who improved to 2-0 after going; 2.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB and finished with 4 strikeouts.

    What’s Next?

    Crowder will be back at home next weekend for a 4-game series against Southeast Community College.

    Game one will be Friday (Mar 1) at 4:00 p.m., Games two and three will be Saturday (Mar 2) at 1 & 4:00 p.m. and the final game will be on Sunday (Mar 3) at 12:00 p.m.
