Liberal Defends Home Court; Defeats Macks Creek to Advance to Class 1 Quarterfinals

LIBERAL, Mo — The Liberal Lady Bulldogs squared off against Macks Creek in the Class 1 Sectionals Round. Liberal held on to defeat Macks Creek, 68-61.

It was a close game all the way into the fourth quarter, but the Lady Bulldogs just made more free throws and more big shots to claim the victory.

Taylor Swarnes led the way finishing with a team-high 20 points. Following her was Cottey College signee Ellaina LaNear who scored 17 points.

Bailey Couch finished with 12, Abby Barton scored 10 and Jordan Goodell added 7 for the Lady Bulldogs.

They now advance to the Class 1 Quarterfinals Round where they will face conference foe, Appleton City (24-4).

Liberal defeated Appleton City earlier in the year back in January, 51-37.

The game is set to be played on Friday (Mar 1) with the location and time still to be determined.
