LOUISVILLE, KY — With Pitt State Softball currently sitting at 34-4 on the season and ranked 11th in the country, their performance this year isn’t the only thing earning national recognition, but some of their players as well.

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released their Players of the Year Watchlist and Pitt State had two ladies find themselves on the list.

Sophomore Outfielder Heather Arnett and Graduate Infielder Hannah Burnett have been listed on the 2024 NCAA Division II Player & Pitcher of the Year Central Region Watchlist.

Arnett leads all of Division II in hits (65), runs scored (48) and stolen bases (36).

The Frontenac alum is also Top-20 in the batting average hitting .481 on the year.

Burnett is batting .436 with 48 hits and 31 RBI’s and 24 stolen bases. She is sporting a .655 slugging percentage as well as a .530 on base percentage.

The Independence, Kansas native ranks in the top half of Division II in those categories.

Arnett & Burnett and the rest of the Gorillas will be in action this weekend with double headers against Nebraksa-Kearney and Fort Hays State.
