FORT SCOTT, KS – Fort Scott baseball bounced back strong after a slow start against Blue Valley North on Thursday afternoon.

Dub Chipman and the Tigers defense made several key plays in the early innings. In the top half of the second, Chipman would pickoff the lead runner at second base, preventing the Mustangs from potentially further extending their lead.

With just a 3-0 deficit, the Tigers went to work in the third inning, scoring six runs to take the lead. Chayden Clayton Lennox Vann, and Kanin Brown played huge roles in the Tigers third-inning offensive surge. The Tigers defense would not allow another Blue Valley North run to cross the plate, and would take the first game of the Adam Laroche Baseball Tournament.

Up next, Fort Scott will participate in the tournament’s third place game on Saturday, April 6th.
