JOPLIN, MO — Missouri Southern throw coach and recruiting coordinator, Brian Allen, will have a new role for the Lions in 2024.

Bryan Schiding, director of Southern’s track and field programs, announced the promotion of Allen to associate head track and field coach.

Allen will stay in his current role, but will have bigger leadership with the team. Since joining the Lions in 2013, Allen has coached 91 all-MIAA throwers, 35 conference champions, and seen 30 school records broken.

Allen also coached Jamaican Olympian and current bronze medalist Rajindra Campbell. Campbell made history as the first Jamaican athlete to medal in the shot put in the Olympics.
