JASPER, MO — 2023 was a rough season for the Jasper Eagles as head coach Mark McFarland’s group would finish at 0-10.

Despite the winless season, the Eagles are looking to turn the chapter in 2024 and build off of their experience. Returning majority of their starters, the Eagles will have almost the same group in the new year.

The Eagles are confident that the work they put into the offseason will translate to wins this year.

“I know that the day after our season ended last year, we were in the weight room and you could tell by their attitude what they wanted to accomplish in 2024,” said head coach Mark McFarland.

Tight end Clayton Anderson and lineman Brady Sisseck are both returning for their senior seasons. Anderson said the team must come out tough and strong.

“We’re going to come out tough and physical,” said Anderson.

“Nobody out on the field is going to be tougher than us.”

Lineman Brady Sisseck mentioned the importance of consistency.

“You’ve got to work hard and can’t slack in practice,” said Sisseck.

“We have to keep the consistency high and just put the work in to keep going.”

Looking to get back to their winning ways, Jasper will kick off its regular season on Friday, August 30th at 7 p.m. against Osceola.
