Top 5 Plays of the Week — Week 1

JOPLIN, MO — After a week of sports, we showed off our Top 5 Plays of the Week from around the Four States area.

Play #1: Webb City’s Billy Hobson (Receiver Makes Basket Catch at 1-Yard Line) —

At the Joplin High School jamboree, Webb City wide receiver Billy Hobson made a terrific basket catch right near the pylon. The officials ruled him a yard short, but the Cardinals scored on the very next play.

Play #2: Carl Junction’s Jaxton Wobken (Leaps Over Defender to Make Grab) —

Carl Junction quarterback Burk Diskin completed a deep pass to Jaxton Wobken for a touchdown. Wobken went over the top of a defender and made the catch for the score.

Play #3: Carthage QB Zane Browning (Launches a Pass to Carson Kinder for a TD) —

Carthage quarterback Zane Browning launched a deep pass to receiver Carson Kinder for a touchdown. Kinder would make the catch on the run, as he found his way into the end zone untouched.

Play #4: Nevada Football’s James QIU (Nevada Senior Sprints His Way in for a Touchdown) —

Nevada football’s James Qiu would have a nice touchdown run in Nevada’s jamboree on Friday. Qiu would put on the speed, as he worked his way in for six points.

Play #5: McDonald County’s Ryder Martin (Quarterback Runs In for a Touchdown on the QB Keeper) —

McDonald County quarterback Ryder Martin would fight his way in for a touchdown on Friday night. Off of a quarterback draw, Martin fought off two would-be tacklers and ran into the end zone for the score.
