QUAPAW, OK – After finishing with a 7-4 record last year, the Quapaw Wildcats are looking to make the 2024-25 season their fifth winning season in a row.

The program lost a large senior class from last year, however, they’ve added a lot of new faces on their roster over the offseason.

Fourteen new freshman enter the depth chart and are looking to make their way as Wildcats.

Head coach Jake Manning is entering his 16th season with Quapaw and mentions that the young guys have only gotten better each day of practice.

The squad as a whole though is looking to take a big lead, especially at the wide receiver position. The Wildcats former wide out Zain Stan was one of the teams top targets last year and had back to back 1,000 yard seasons his junior and senior year.

Coach Manning says that with all the experience his team has, he knows his guys will be ready for the challenge.

“We’re kind of filling those roles with some new players, but, we’ve got some other guys who had some experience last year and they’re looking forward to the challenge,” Coach Manning mentions. “So far I’ve been really happy with what they’ve shown.”

“Zain Stan is going to be a hard role to fill,” Senior wide receiver Jaxon Myrick says. “We have the guys to do it and I know one of us in the receiving core will be able to step up big.”

Staying focused on the task at hand and soaking in the moment has been the Wildcats message since the start of practice.

“Things to build off of from last year is definitely the excitement of everything,” Senior running back and linebacker Caiden Porter adds. “We know our high school playing career is coming to an end so we’re going to go out there and make it a good one.”

The Wildcats will kickoff their regular season off on August 30th at home against Salina at 7:00pm.
