Carthage Football Tops Ozark 42-6 in Battle of the Tigers

CARTHAGE, MO — David Haffner Stadium was jam packed for the Carthage Tigers’ first home game of the 2024 football season, and the hosts looked like a well-oiled machine in front of the home crowd.

Carthage set the tone early in this matchup with back-to-back touchdowns on each of their opening drives in the 1st quarter. Running back Landyn Collins got the scoring started with a carry out of the wildcat formation, with his QB Brady Carlton finding the end zone on a QB draw just minutes later.

That would be the first of many trips to the end zone for Collins, as the Ozark defense couldn’t seem to stop the dominate running back.

The Carthage defense came up with some big plays all throughout this contest, including a fumble recovery early in the 2nd quarter and several 3rd down stops to kill Ozark’s momentum.

Ozark struggled in the first half, but came away with a toe-tapping interception to limit the damage just before the halftime whistle.

Carthage held a 21-0 lead at halftime, but Ozark avoided the shutout with a late touchdown of its own.

This matchup ended with Carthage on top by a comfortable margin, moving to 2-0 on the season with a 42-6 win.
