Top 5 Plays of the Week — Week 3

JOPLIN, MO — After a week of sports, we showed off our Top 5 Plays of the Week from around the Four States area.

Play #1: Colgan’s Carston Simmons (Trick Play for Touchdown Against Girard) —

St. Mary’s Colgan executed a trick play against Girard that resulted in a touchdown for Will Schremmer and the Panthers. Colgan would go on to win the game on Friday against the Trojans 21-14.

Play #2: Pitt State’s Jack Roberts (70-Yard Touchdown Against MSSU) —

Chad Dodson fired a 70-yard touchdown pass to Jack Roberts in the Miners Bowl against Missouri Southern on Saturday. The Gorillas dominated in the road game, beating their cross-state rivals 42-17.

Play #3: Webb City’s Jackson Lucas (69-Yard Touchdown Nixa ) —

Webb City quarterback Jackson Lucas ran for a 69-yard touchdown against Nixa on Friday. Sprinting down the sideline, Lucas fooled the defense on the quarterback keeper for the score.

Play #4: Missouri Southern’s Colton Bass (Interception Against Pitt State) —

MSSU linebacker Colton Bass intercepted Pitt State quarterback Chad Dodson off of a tipped pass on Saturday. Making the heads up play, Bass put his team’s offense in perfect position to score on the ensuing drive.

Play #5: Joplin Softball’s Gracie Williamson (Caught Sharp Line Drive Against Lebanon) —

Joplin softball’s Gracie Williamson caught a sharp line drive against Lebanon last week. Reaching with her outstretched glove, Williamson made a solid catch to prevent a base hit.
