JOPLIN, MO – The Joplin Eagles hosted the Glendale Lady Falcons on Tuesday, September 10th, looking to build off their win last week versus Ozark 4-2.

The Lady Falcons came into the game coming off a loss to Carthage.

Coming out strong for Glendale was Marley While. She dropped a shot into left center field with Peyton Lindstrom on second base.

Lindstrom was able to beat the ball to the bag and secure the first run of the game for the Lady Falcons, while Marley While made it to second off of an overthrown ball to first base.

Carrying the momentum for Glendale on defense was Lindstrom once more. She tracked down a high flyer from shortstop to close out the first inning.

The bats were slow for the eagles to start, but pitcher Ava Wolf held it down from the circle pitching a complete game with eight strikeouts on the day.

Continuing to work on defense was Abby Lowery.

While the Eagles had runners on second and third, Lowery sprinted from center field to left field to close the inning and allow no runs to score.

That’s all the flare Joplin needed down the stretch to get the offense in rhythm.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Eagles were still scoreless and down 1-0.

Wolf would come up to the plate with one out in the field and hit a triple to the fence to get the bats going. Bella Munn came in to take her place at third.

Jadyn Pankow would drive in Munn along with Riley Kelly, Gracie Williamson, and Lily Glover driving in runs of their own.

Abby Lowery would drive in the Eagles fifth run of the afternoon and go on to win 5-2.

Joplin will stay at home this week hosting Carl Junction on Wednesday, September 11th, at 5:00pm, while Glendale will return home to host Hillcrest at 3:30pm
