NIXA, MO – The Joplin Eagles headed to Nixa High School to face up against the Eagles as both teams came into this battle undefeated to start their regular seasons.

Starting things off early for Nixa was Dyan Rebura showing off his speed. He bursted up the field for a 40+ yard run to put Nixa up 14-0.

For the visiting Eagles, quarterback Daniel Rose would try to create a little offense of his own for Joplin. He scrambled out of the pocket for a huge gain to put them on Nixa’s side of the field.

However, the visiting Eagles didn’t let much yardage happen after that.

Nixa’s Carter Fangrow would secure the aggressive solo tackle to push Joplin behind the line of scrimmage on the next set of downs.

A back and forth battle of both team’s defenses would start to brew.

Nixa regained offensive possession but couldn’t complete the 4th down conversion. Joplin would be in the same situation on the other end of the field as Nixa came back out on top.

Nixa’s defense would continue to carry the momentum with McCoy Sullivan picking off Daniel Rose later on in the second quarter.

The defense turned into offense as Adam McKnight connected with Wyatt Vincet for a Nixa score.

The visiting Eagles would go on to dominate in a 49-0 victory.

Joplin will head to Glendale Friday, September 20th, at 7:00pm for their next match up, while Nixa will return home versus Carthage.
