MIAMI, Okla. — The Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College women’s rodeo team placed first at the Kansas State Rodeo.

The women’s and men’s teams attended the rodeo in Kansas earlier this month. The men’s team placed fourth in the competition.

“I was very pleased with how our team competed at K-State,” said Kolby Ungeheuer, NEO Rodeo head coach. “We are very young this year and competed very well with all the other junior college teams. I have no doubt we will keep getting stronger as a team as the season moves forward. It was very exciting to have five students in the finals; they represented us well.”

    Individual Winners:

    • Lakin Cunningham, goat roping, second and third place
    • Colbi Freeman, breakaway roping, fourth place
    • Brody Tunks, calf roping, fifth place
    • Treydon Larmon and Gus Albertson, team roping, fourth place.
