WEBB CITY, MO — The Webb City Cardinals softball team is off to a hot start early in the season, posting a now 10-1 record with an undefeated mark at home.

Tuesday’s performance against the Glendale Falcons was a sign of what fans might come to expect from this talented group: pure domination.

Alivia Nieburg had an impressive outing, recording seven strikeouts en route to throwing a complete game.

Nieburg also got it done offensively, as her first-inning base knock brought in the first score of the game, helping the Cardinals get out to an early 2-0 lead.

The Cardinals’ bats weren’t done yet, as they put up a huge fourth inning thanks to a pair of crucial RBI doubles by Abby Sargent and Liz Rhuems in back-to-back at bats.

Things didn’t get much better for Glendale as this game ended in a 9-0 shutout in Webb City’s favor.

The Cardinals move to 10-1 this season while Glendale drops to 5-7. Webb City softball will be back in action Thursday, September 19 taking on Kickapoo on the road. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
