JOPLIN, MO – Heading into this week, the Joplin Eagles Football team is 2-1. Their wins consist of a dominating 30-7 win over Kickapoo in Week 1, and a 21-17 victory versus Lebanon Week 2.

However, last week the Eagle suffered a tough loss to Nixa on the road losing 49-0.

With this Friday coming, Joplin returns back at home looking to get back in the win column versus Glendale, who has yet to win a game this year.

Head Coach Curtis Jasper says the main focus this week preparing for the Bulldogs has been all about the defense.

“We showed up Saturday morning ready to work, ready to get better and that’s what I love most about [this team]. In the long run that’s going to make us the best team we can be,” Coach Jasper mentioned.

“I think we need to improve on our energy. Just bringing more energy to the practices and then carrying that out to the field on Friday,” senior wide receiver Davin Thomas said.

“It’s in the past. There’s nothing we can do now to get that lose off our record. We just have to go out and get it Friday. We can’t let one week beat us twice,” senior defensive lineman Josiah Hazlewood adds.

Kickoff for Glendale versus Joplin is set for 7:00pm this Friday at Joplin High School.
