WEBB CITY, MO — Webb City football fell to Ozark at home 20-14 on Friday night.

Ozark started out strong with a 2 play, 26 yard drive resulting in a Rory Banks touchdown. Banks would finish the night with 80 yards and a touchdown for the tigers, but despite his efforts, Webb City remained strong on defense. Cardinals senior Brody Eggleston broke up a very sharp pass against Ozark quarterback Peyton Russel, giving Webb a chance to climb back into the game.

Trailing 7-0, Webb City tied the game on a 53-yard touchdown by Mason Williams. Drawing even with Ozark, the Tigers pulled ahead by two scores in the third quarter but Webb would fight back.

Attempting to put the game away on a late field goal, Eggleston blocked the kick which was then returned by Andrew Young for a touchdown. Despite the late comeback, however, Ozark ran the clock out to put the game away.

Up next, Webb City will be back at home to host Neosho on Friday, September 27 at 7:00 p.m.
