BAXTER SPRINGS, KS – The Girard Trojans hit the road to face the Baxter Springs Lions and headed into the evening in search of their third consecutive win. As for the Lions, they looked to bounce off of their win last week to Afton.

Coming to a close in the end of the first quarter, the Lions sent a field goal through the uprights and took a early 3-0 lead.

Fast forwarding to halfway through the second quarter, quarterback Sylar Sammons ran one himself and snuck in the endzone for six for a 6-3 Trojan lead.

Moments later, Sammons threw a 40 yard bomb to a wide open Scott Moore who also found himself in the endzone for a touchdown.

Girard would take the lead 14-3.

Despite an already dominate offensive performance, Girard kept wanting more.

Two minutes left in the first half, Sammons pitched one to Lemont Love and he would join the party and score another Trojans touchdown.

Sammons would score another running touchdown before the end of the half as Girard continued to dominate Baxter Springs 41-3.

Girard will head on the road to face Frontenac on September 27th at 7:00pm, while Baxter Springs will host Parsons.
