CARL JUNCTION, MO — Carl Junction Softball moves to 9-7 overall this season with five wins in their last seven contests after a dominating performance against Hillcrest on Wednesday.

Junior Kylie Spencer handled starting pitching duties for the Bulldogs, and she was slicing and dicing the Hornets with five strikeouts through the first two innings.

Hillcrest wasn’t able to get the bats going against Spencer’s pitching arsenal, and the Carl Junction offense went to work from start to finish in this one.

Spencer opened up the scoring in the bottom of the first with an RBI double, which was just the tip of the iceberg for the Carl Junction offense.

The Bulldogs put up seven runs in the second inning alone thanks to RBI hits from Kinley Spindler, Kady Hunt, Ryleigh Palmer and Jazmyne Blaney.

In fact, the Bulldogs’ bats were so hot in this one, the game was ended via mercy rule. With an 11-0 win over the Hornets, Carl Junction softball moves to 9-7 this season with a matchup against Bolivar coming up on Thursday, September 26 at 4:30 p.m.
