Neosho Softball Gets Back in the Win Column, Takes Down Republic

NEOSHO, MO — Neosho Softball had dropped six consecutive games entering Thursday’s contest against the Republic Tigers, but the Wildcats bounced back thanks to some stellar defense and pitching.

Neither team had a lot of offense going in this game, as the score remained 0-0 through three innings of work.

Both starting pitchers — Carleigh Kinnaird for Neosho, Piper Dishman for Republic — had quality outings, giving up only a handful of hits throughout their time in the circle.

However, the deadlock was eventually broken in the 4th innings, as Neosho piled on three runs in the bottom of the fourth; the only three runs scored throughout the entirety of this one.

With a 3-0 win over Republic, Neosho Softball moves to 11-9. The Wildcats will be back in action on Monday, September 30 against Cassville.
