RIVERTON, KS — Riverton girls volleyball swept Colgan in a home rematch on Thursday night.

In the first set, Riverton’s Maddie Darnaby etched the Rams in the point column with a perfectly placed floater to extend the lead 7-1. Colgan answered later on in the first set, junior Addisyn Dewey set up Kylee Kretchmar for the kill to tighten the score to 8-4.

Colgan’s Izzy Tierney went for the kill and was blocked by Rilyn Thomasson to win the first set for the Rams, as Riverton took it 25-11.

Looking to respond in the second set, Dewey placed a serve perfectly in the far left corner for the ace, but Riverton’s offense was too strong in both the second and third sets as the Rams swept Colgan 3-0.

Up next, Riverton volleyball will participate in the Carl Junction volleyball tournament on Saturday, September 28th and Colgan will participate in the Cherryvale tournament.
