LAMAR, MO – A packed crowd was in attendance for the Lamar Tigers during their homecoming matchup versus the Mt. Vernon Mountaineers.

Both teams headed into the night with a 3-1 record in search for their fourth win of their seasons.

Starting things off was Mt. Vernon as Braden Dodson pounded his way into the endzone for six with authority.

Marching down the other way for Lamar was Cooper Haun. He would go on to break a multitude of tackles and bully his way past the pylon for the Tiger’s first score of the game.

After that Lamar score, Haun was just getting started.

The senior running back would end up back in the red zone after a huge kick return from Aidan Sheat and Haun would go on to score another touchdown for Lamar.

Looking to answer back was Dodson once more. He found himself in the endzone mid way through the second quarter to give Mt. Vernon the lead 14-12.

Down the stretch Lamar couldn’t hold on as Mt. Vernon went on to win 42-32.

Lamar will host Nevada next week October 4th at 7:00pm, while Mt. Vernon will head back home to host Cassville.
