PITTSBURG, KS – In hopes of keep their winning season alive the Pitt State Gorillas hosted the Fort Hays Tigers as both teams came into the day in search of their fifth win on the year.

Defense was the name of the game for both sides in the first half as Pitt State goalkeeper Jocelyn Kramar came up with an early save. She had two to finish the game.

Trying to ride the defensive momentum and create some off were the Gorillas coming the other way, but Tigers defender Megan Wilman showed off some agility keeping up with Pitt and forcing the ball out of play.

The Gorillas would then have a corner kick but Fort Hays came up with another stop as the header from Abby Light was deflected out of bounds.

This resulted in another corner kick for Pitt which was the second of their four in the first half. Adriana Delgado would deal but elevating to make the save was Tiger goalkeeper Mackenzie Caldwell.

With a back and forth defensive battle in the first half, Sydney Cotter and Montserrat Diaz would score a goal a piece in the second to put the Tigers on top 2-0 as they advanced to 5-1-2.

Pitt State fell to 4-3-1 as they look to bounce back on the road October 4th at 7:00pm versus Rogers State, while Fort Hays will host Emporia state October 6th at 2:00pm.
