PITTSBURG, KS – Looking to add another win to their record after coming off a dominating 5-0 road win to Fort Scott, the Pittsburg Purple Dragons hosted the Carl Junction Bulldogs as both teams are nearing the bottom half of their regular season schedules.

Within the first few seconds of the game, Carl Junctions’ Shea Perkins was set up perfectly off a header from Travis Lewis.

Perkins took full advantage of the pass as he would rip a shot into the back of the net to give the Bulldogs a quick 1-0 advantage.

Following that possession was defender Liam Diamond for the Purple Dragons. He was making plays left and right inside the box to prevent two scoring opportunities from Carl Junction.

Pittsburg goalkeeper Ludin Trigueros-Estrada would keep the momentum going and come out with two saves in the first half.

The Purple dragons however were unable to hold on down the stretch as Kale Trosper capitalized off a Carl Junction corner kick to give the Bulldog’s a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

Continuing to show out in the second half, Carl Junction went on to win 4-2.

The Bulldogs will travel to Hillcrest on October 1st at 6:30pm, while Pittsburg will travel to Independence at 6:00pm.
