Miami Defeats Oologah 1-0 in Region 16 Tournament Championship

MIAMI, OK — After an 11-1 win over the Mustangs on Wednesday, Thursday’s championship matchup against Oologah saw Miami come out on top by a narrow one-run margin.

There wasn’t a ton of offense to show for in this one, as both Jocelyn Leak for Oologah and D’Naya Green for Miami had solid pitching performances.

The lone run of the ballgame came in the third inning. After Addy Douthit reached base on a perfectly-executed bunt, Hayden Pilkinton delivered with a grounder out to left field that would go for an RBI single.

Miami would go on to seal the deal in a 1-0 win, and the Wardogs are now officially OSSAA 4A Region 16 champions.
