Grand Lake to host Old-Time Gathering and Music Festival

GROVE, Okla. — Snider’s Camp and Har-Ber Village will host the second Old-Time Gathering & Music Festival.

The festival, presented by Grand Lake Festivals, kicks off at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, at Snider’s Camp and continues through Saturday, Oct. 19, beginning at 10 a.m. in the Har-Ber Village Event Center. The Festival will culminate Saturday evening with a Square and Contra Dance organized by Glen Schmidt in the Event Center, with caller Emma Neighbour and the Silver Dollar String Band.

Music of several genres will fill the Village, as will live history demonstrations such as printmaking, weaving, blacksmithing, and several interesting talks on the history of this music and its resurgence.
