MIAMI, Okla. — The historic Coleman Theatre in downtown Miami doesn’t necessarily make one think of bull riding — but it’s about to.

That’s because there will be plenty of it in front of the theatre Saturday night. The Route 66 Bull Bash will feature ultimate livestock from Hampton Pro Rodeo taking on the top 20 bull riders from the American Cowboy Rodeo Association and International Pro Rodeo Association.

This arena, which has been under construction all week, will have hundreds of people around it. There are limited tickets remaining. The bull riding starts at 7.

“Well this is the only time it’s ever been done on Route 66 in front of the Coleman Theatre and why not try somethin’ new? I mean, this is, this is once in a lifetime kind of, kind of deal. Bob Carter and the mayor, Bless, had a, had a vision and now, now it’s gonna come to fruition in about 24 hours — and it’s gonna be a blast,” said Monty Stueve, Pro Rodeo Announcer.

“Not only are we going to have bullriding, we’re going to have a party zone. So, we’re going to have beer. We’re going to have vendors. We’re going to have places where you can shop and eat. And we’re gonna have the OU-Texas game on the jumbotron. So, I don’t how you can find a better way to spend your Saturday night — to be honest — than in Miami, Oklahoma,” said Jennie LaFave, Miami Tourism Director.

The Fan Party Zone opens at one o’clock on Saturday. Arena gates open at 5. By the way, you can also watch that OU-Texas game on KODE at 2:30.
