JASPER COUNTY, Mo. — Starting Tuesday morning at seven, the southbound ramp on I-49 at the Fir Road exit will be closed.

Drivers will be detoured to the Fairview exit to Chapel Road south. The new single-lane roundabout at Fir Road and Dr. Russell Smith Way will be open to traffic.

This traffic pattern will remain in place until early 2025 as part of the ongoing project to build a roundabout at that intersection. It’s a 50/50 cost-share project between the City of Carthage and the Missouri Department of Transportation.
