Stark City man dies in crash

NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. — A Stark City man is dead after a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV just south of Granby.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, James Stuart, 71, was driving westbound along Highway 86 Monday when an eastbound SUV attempted to make a left turn in front of him before crashing into his motorcycle.

Stuart was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Newton County coroner at 3:53 p.m.

This is Troop D’s 88th fatality for 2024.
