PINE BLUFF, Ark. – On Thursday, football fans cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks or the UAPB Golden Lions will come together at War Memorial Stadium, but also in the stands will be the sights and sounds of UAPB’s marching band already preparing for the big day.

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Marching Musical Machine of the Mid-South is preparing for an electrifying performance, according to band director John Graham Jr.

“You’re going to see a world-class show,” Graham said.

Graham said they have more members a part of this marching band compared to last year, but they are making sure they are practicing to continue their perfect harmony.

“Our halftime show is like you’re running as fast as you can and blowing air in a horn so it takes a lot of conditioning,” Graham said.

French horn player Brian King said there is a lot of excitement and anticipation for the big day.

“Like the movie says, ‘One band, one sound,” King said. “The hype about this game especially, the crowd just alone and the energy they bring makes me hype and keeps me going.”

Trombone Player Everett Tobler said he is excited to play in War Memorial.

“It’s going to be in one of the most packed arenas that we will play in all year,” Tobler said.

Taylor Blackmon, an M4 Golden Girls dancer, said she is excited to perform with her team.
