    Arkansas State Police troopers find more than 500 pounds of marijuana, two pounds of mushrooms in Pope County traffic stop

    POPE COUNTY, Ark. – Arkansas State Police said a traffic stop in Pope County led to authorities finding more than 500 pounds of marijuana and two pounds of mushrooms.

    According to ASP officials, state troopers stopped a vehicle on Interstate 40 for a traffic violation on Monday, Sept. 9. Troopers said they found multiple duffle bags inside crates in the vehicle.

    Special agents said the bags held 514 one-pound packages of illegal marijuana and approximately two pounds of Psilocybin mushrooms.

    The driver, 41-year-old Ismar Zubovic from Houston, Texas, was arrested and taken to the Pope County Detention Center. ASP officials said that Zubovic told investigators he was traveling from California to New Jersey.

    Zubovic is facing felony charges of trafficking a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
