Police said witnesses told them an argument started between a man and his mother that became physical. Investigators said the man’s adult son attempted to intervene, and in the process shot his father. The man died as a result of the shooting.

Authorities said the son called 911 and told dispatchers what happened. The Des Arc officers said the son surrendered without incident.
