NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – North Little Rock city leaders approved a new entertainment district on Monday and the businesses in the area are hoping the addition will lead to growth.

The North Little Rock city council approved the town’s second entertainment district which will include part of the historic Park Hill area.

Declaring the area as an entertainment district will allow adults to take alcoholic beverages outside of businesses. One of those businesses is Hogg’s Meat Market on John F. Kennedy Boulevard.

Hoggs Meat Market customers can shop at the market, dine in the restaurant and drink alcoholic beverages.

Owner Peggy Hogg said she hopes this move from the city will allow the area to grow and her business with it.

“It just gives us a bit more opportunity to do what other communities are doing business-wise,” Hogg said.

She said she will be adding new entertainment soon.

“We’ll have music. Baggo to start out with. We have to start out slow, for children and adults,” Hogg said. “And seating outside. And just something for the community.”
