SPRUCE PINE, NC. – From here in the Natural State to the mountains of North Carolina, Arkansans are lending a helping hand in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

Clint Roe and a group called the Cajun Navy, also known as ground force humanitarian aid, have been hard at work in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, an area impacted by Hurricane Helene.

Roe has seen a little bit of everything from roads washed away, flooding, debris and trees down, and more. He said everyone is doing what they can to help.

The group has passed out food, water, batteries, and more supplies. They’ve also cleared roadways and assisted people with cleaning out their flooded homes.

Some people in the area have been without power since before the storm, and they’re not sure when it will turn back on.

Roe said everyday they’re trying to provide hope.

“Toys, to food, to supplies, anything that the community would need we’re bringing in and giving to the community, and passing it out,“ Roe said.

He said the travel impacts have been hard to work around, but they have trucks coming in with more supplies to give out.

Roe said he couldn’t stand by and watch the devastation and not help. He’s hoping to spread love, hope and compassion.
