    Two die in Lonoke County fire

    LONOKE COUNTY, Ark. – Authorities in Lonoke County are investigating after two people died in a Tuesday night fire.

    According to the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office, fire crews responded to a fire in the 600 block of Robin Road off Highway 294 near South Bend around 11 p.m.

    Deputies said that an elderly man and another person was killed in the fire. One of the victims was identified as homeowner J.T. Mathis. The other victim’s identity has not been released.

    The cause of the fire has not been released at this time.

    Deputies said that Arkansas State Police are assisting in the investigation.
