ARDOT plans Saline County interstate, highway closure for Monday

SALINE COUNTY, Ark. – Saline County drivers will soon face a new round of interstate closures on Monday as part of the ongoing I-30 widening project.

Officials with the Arkansas Department of Transportation said the Interstate 30-Highway 70 interchange at Exit 111 will be closed from 10 p.m. Monday night through 6 a.m. Tuesday morning so that crews can switch traffic onto new pavement.

Drivers can expect to find signed detours to navigate around the closure, directing traffic on I-30 west to the Highway 70 detour to continue on I-30 west, then take Exit 106 at Old Military Road, return to I-30 east and take Exit 111 to Highway 70.

Officials said emergency vehicles will be accommodated if they need to access the closed ramps.

ARDOT officials caution that drivers should watch for slower traffic during the closure.

The project is part of the Connecting Arkansas Program, in this case widening I-30 in Saline County to three lanes in each direction between exits 111 and 116. More information may be found at ConnectingArkansasProgram.com .
