Balloon release in Little Rock honors teen lost to gun violence

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A prayer followed by a balloon release is how Latracy Bizzell honors her son with her family and friends.

Latracy’s 15-year-old son is Davin Bizzell. He was shot and killed in a car in Oct. of 2023. Today — Davin’s mom is surrounded by her family as she grieves the loss of her son.

“This is the worst pain a person will ever experience, to lose a child,” Latracy said.

Latracy’s twin sister, Latiffany, said she has to be strong for the both of them. And support like this makes the difference.

“It uplifts you. It brings you out of a dark place,” Latiffany said, “So I really haven’t had time to really grieve myself because I’ve had to be strong for my sister.”

Latracy told me not a day goes by since her son’s murder that she doesn’t feel the loss. She prays for justice and leans on family, hoping the grief won’t weigh her down forever.

“I miss my baby. And I will forever miss my baby, as long as I’m alive. I will always miss and honor my son,” Latracy said.
