Arkansas State Police make arrest in Marianna homicide investigation

MARIANNA, Ark. – Arkansas State Police have made an arrest after a man was found dead at an apartment complex in Marianna on Tuesday.

ASP officials said 18-year-old Jeremiah Harris of Marianna was arrested on Thursday in connection with the death of 25-year-old Danny Jordan.

According to the ASP, the Marianna Police Department responded to reports of shots fired at the South Pointe Apartments on California Street around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

When they arrived, officers said they found Jordan lying in an open doorway with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said Harris is in custody at the Lee County Detention Center and is facing a charge of first-degree murder and a charge of committing a terroristic act. He will appear before a bond hearing on Monday.
