ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Church members were out on Thursday working to clean up their church.

The cleanup comes after the Trinity Church of the Nazarene was hit by a truck, hard enough to bring down the church’s awning, Tuesday.

“While this seems like an obstacle that could keep us from many things, we are thanking god that no one got hurt,” church member Thomas Miller told FOX 2 Thursday.

St. Louis County Police are now investigating the crash that was caught on security cameras.

The awning completely collapsed, and the church’s services, including its food events, are in danger of being canceled. The church’s weekend play of “Cheaper by the Dozen” is still scheduled for Friday and Saturday night. They are hopeful that the mobile food event that has helped thousands in the past will still be able to function without the awning.

Beloved ‘Big Boy’ locomotive rolls through St. Louis in September. When can you see it?

“We are just thankful we can still meet as a church,” Miller said.

The church is still planning its Sunday services at 10:45 a.m.

Despite the hit-and-run crash, Miller said he does not hold any ill will toward whoever was driving the truck.

“It’s important for us to all come together and to love one another,” Miller explained.
