    Massive Missouri home with octagon pit on Zillow Gone Wild

    MONETT, Mo. – A massive rural Missouri home that prides itself on a timeless charm, most notably an Octagon-shaped conversation pit among many original 20th century design elements, has hit the market with widespread attention from Zillow Gone Wild.

    The home is a five-bedroom, five-bathroom residence of nearly 5,000 square feet in Monett, Missouri near Springfield. The entire property stretches more than one acre of land. The home has a listed price tag of nearly $430,000.

    Zillow Gone Wild praised many features of the home in a recent social media post , including fluffy stair steps and carpeting, intricate painting and wallpaper, and a wet bar and massive conversation pit within the living room.

    A wall of windows with immaculate views surrounds the master suite, which also features an open-concept bathroom with a sunken tub. The home also comes with a massive garage, a storm shelter, an upkept old-school kitchen hood and three fireplaces.

    The property also includes an outdoor court that can be utilized for personal tennis or pickleball matches.

    The home once belong to Dr. Andres Apostol, a respected southwest Missouri physician who died in 2022. He and his wife, who moved to Monett in the 1970s, designed and built the home with a “contemporary, forward-thinking” visions and “modern aesthetics,” as described in the Zillow listing. Their unique vision shaped a home that has remained a standout in Monett for decades.

    I think this house could be beautiful, it just needs updating...but some of the features would be fit for the Ugliest House in America show.
