Three injured after woman drives into Washington, Mo. building

WASHINGTON, Mo. – Three people were taken to the hospital for injuries after a woman drove into the front windows of a Washington, Missouri, business.

The Washington Police Department responded to the crash on Thursday at the 900 Block of Don Avenue.

According to the police, a 66-year-old woman said she pulled into a parking space in front of the building, and while putting the vehicle into park, the vehicle accelerated and crashed through the front windows of the business.

The driver told police she lost control of the vehicle after she believed the gas pedal got stuck and she could not stop the vehicle.

Police said three people inside the business were transported to Mercy Hospital to receive treatment for injuries ranging from minor to serious.

The Washington Police Department said the crash is still under investigation.
