Fort Zumwalt superintendent retiring at end of school year

O’FALLON, Mo. – Fort Zumwalt School District Superintendent Paul Myers recently announced his retirement at the end of the 2024–2025 school year.

According to a letter, the board of education was notified of his departure in their August meeting, stating he wanted to give enough notice to provide a smooth transition.

“On both a personal and professional level, I consider it a great gift to have been a part of Fort Zumwalt School District,” he said in his announcement to families. “As an employee of the district, I know firsthand that our faculty and staff give that same experience to every student who walks through our doors.”

Myers has worked in education for 29 years, with 26 of those being with the district. He took over the role of superintendent in July 2023.

“Although my time as superintendent will be relatively short, I have been fortunate to work at the district level for the past 16 years. During that time, I have worked with an incredible group of school board members and fellow administrators. I am profoundly thankful to our current Board of Education, the district leadership team, and all of our staff for the support they provided to me as superintendent,” Myers added.

Myers will retire June 30, 2025.
