UPDATE: St. Peters mayor planning to veto firework bill one day after approval

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. – St. Peters approved a bill allowing the sale and use of fireworks earlier this week. Just a day after the City of St. Peters got approval of a bill that allowed sales and use of fireworks for the Fourth of July, the decision may be reversed.

The bill does prohibit the discharge of fireworks within 600 feet of hospitals, churches, mental health facilities, and schools.

Fireworks stand owners can apply for a permit between January 2nd and May 1st each year and pay a fee.

Stands can operate from June 25th to July 4.
