COLUMBIA, Mo. – Coming off a breakout 11-win season last year, the Missouri Tigers open a new college football campaign Thursday evening.

Mizzou will open its 2024 season with a non-conference home matchup against the Murray State Racers.

How to Watch. Are tickets still available?

If you can’t attend the season opener at Faurot Field, here’s what you need to know in order to watch.

    • Projected start time: 7 p.m. CT
    • Channel: SEC Network
    • Live streams: WatchESPN/FuboTV

Mizzou says the home opener is “sold out,” but some tickets are still listed on third-party platforms, like Ticketmaster and StubHub . Those tickets start as low as $13 before fees.

What to know about the 2024 Mizzou Tigers

Mizzou gets a head start to their new season as most Power Five Football teams return to game action this weekend.

Expectations are high after a second-place finish the SEC East Division and a Cotton Bowl Classic victory last season. The Tigers start the season 11th in the Associated Press’ first college football rankings .

Head coach Eli Drinkwitz is back for his fifth season, marking his first campaign with a roster entirely of his own recruits. Drinkwitz has landed several high-profile players, like Luther Burden III and Williams Nwaneri, with a major emphasis on recruiting locally. His 11 wins were a personal best with Mizzou last year and he was undefeated in games decided by one possession, showing improvement in finishing close contests.

    Daily News

The team’s dynamic quarterback-receiver duo, Brady Cook and Luther Burden III, hails from the St. Louis region. Cook and Burden finished in the Top 5 of passing yards and rushing yards in the SEC last year.

Theo Wease Jr. and Mookie Cooper also give Mizzou plenty of experience in its receiver core. Nate Noel and Marcus Carroll will compete for lead running back opportunities throughout the season.

Defensive tackle Chris McClellan and cornerback Dreyden Norwood are the defensive stalwarts. Blake Craig will start the season as Mizzou’s lead punter and placekicker.

As the college football playoff expands to 12 teams this season, Mizzou could be a contender for a spot if they perform to a similar level as last year. The timeliness and quality of victories could certainly play a factor in how the Tigers fare in a playoff push. For the full schedule, CLICK HERE .
